![]() I work in a mixed practice in Essex as Head Nurse and am also an NVQ assessor for both Small Animal and Equine student Veterinary Nurses, as well students studying for the Veterinary Nursing degree. I also hold a teaching qualification, and occasionally lecture at my local college. My main roles on BVNA Council have been publication and website observation, as well as equine representative. I spent the Council year of 2004-5 as Vice President, assisting Sarah Lightfoot with her duties as well as preparing for my own Presidential term. From October 2005 to 2007 I was President of the BVNA, and am now Senior Vice President. My main objectives have been to ensure that the views of the “ordinary” nurse in practice are represented as we move towards Regulation, in what is an exciting time for the Veterinary Nursing profession. I have also worked hard to build links between BVNA and other organisations within the Veterinary Profession. Significant others are my husband Adam whom I married in May 2007, and my daughter Megan aged eleven. Hobbies include listening to music, holidays in the sun and following Arsenal FC. Email: Julia |
