I began my nursing career 18 years ago as a kennel maid progressing to nursing and qualifying as a veterinary nurse in 2000. I am now Head nurse at the New Era Veterinary Hospital in Jersey.

Being located on a beautiful island it is a vital necessity that the Hospital is able to deal with a wide range of conditions and surgical procedures, this enables me to have a very pro active and interesting working day as a veterinary nurse. As well as my normal nursing duties I carry out nurse clinics, I co-ordinate Health and Safety and hold a D32/D33 qualification so lots of training and portfolios. One of my areas of interest is animal behavior.

I aim as a regional BVNA Co-Ordinator to organise some good quality CPD as this can be expensive and difficult living in the Islands and with regulation now up on us it is now even more important and essential.

Outside of work I enjoy the gym, never ending D.I.Y and trying to spend time with my partner ‘Eddie’ and my very spoilt hand reared cat ‘Inca’.
