I went straight into practice at the age of 17yrs; I worked in a practice in Bangor where I lived. I worked at this practice for just over 4 years where I completed my 1st year VN training. I then went to work at a veterinary hospital in Lees, Oldham where I completed my 2nd year VN training. I went to the veterinary hospital because I wanted to gain more veterinary nursing experience and work with different vets, nurses in a different environment.

After working there for a few years I decided that I should move back to North Wales to settle down with my boyfriend. Unfortunately at this time there were no jobs in a veterinary practice so I took a job at the main hospital in Gwynedd as a cardiographer. This was an amazing experience and I gained loads of knowledge on ECG’s and interpretation. After 9 months though I was missing veterinary practice, so I decided to become a locum VN.

During my locuming I had a call from the nurses at the Bangor practice to say that Novartis were looking for a Territory Manager for North Wales. I applied for the job and after a few interviews was lucky enough to be offered the job.Since working for Novartis I have gained so much confidence, I even enjoy standing up and doing presentations!!! (People who knew me when I first started vet nursing would never had thought this was possible!)

I now live in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch on Anglesey. I live with my boyfriend Joel and Tiddles the cat who we inherited when we bought the house. I don’t think Tiddles realised what it entailed having a vet nurse as her new owner. Within a week she was taken straight to the vets for a vaccination course, micro chipping, flea injection and worming!!
