Profile
I completed my VN training at Rodbaston Agricultural College, Staffordshire in 1990. Over the last 21 years, I have worked in a variety of private practices and charity organisations in the UK, both as a full time employee and as a locum. I was even lucky enough to work as a VN in Ireland for a year and Australia for a short period of time.

Since being introduced to the world of exotics and their care by Chris Marshall MRCVS in 1989, my interest has developed and I gained my C&G Certificate in Veterinary Nursing of exotic species from Edinburgh’s Telford College in 2002. I am currently employed as the Senior Veterinary Nurse at Chester Zoo, and I locum in small animal practice so that I don’t forget what the real world is like.

I hope as an RCO I will be able to offer interesting and fun CPD to nurses and practice staff in the area. I will be lead by your requests for CPD subjects but hopefully will include my interests too (exotics, wildlife, conservation, and behaviour).

I am looking forward to this new challenge and to meeting you all.

See you soon,
Karen
