Rachel LumbisRachel Lumbis

I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse several years ago whilst working in a small animal practice. I then moved to London and completed a degree in veterinary nursing. Throughout my studies I spent time locuming at a variety of small animal practices. I moved into academia in 2005 and joined the Royal Veterinary College in 2008 as Assistant Lecturer in Veterinary Nursing. I have a particular interest in small animal nutrition and dentistry and am currently involved in developing these topics in the undergraduate veterinary and veterinary nursing curriculum. I am a clinical coach and also hold the RCVS veterinary nursing examiner qualification. Having spent many years as BVNA Regional Co-ordinator for the Metropolitan region, I am delighted to be contributing towards the work of the BVNA, this time as a council member. In my spare time I like to keep fit and can often be found out running or on my bike. I also enjoy travelling and am a keen photographer.
