Hello my name is Shelley Mildon and I started out my career as a student at Plumpton College studying for a National Diploma in Animal Care, where I undertook work experience at a veterinary surgery. It was while I was on this course, that I got offered my first job at Chase Veterinary group in Eastbourne. It was all down to my work experience, that I got offered a trainee position and that was over 10 years ago! So it definitely pays to get work experience! It was during my time here that I qualified in almost double quick time at Berkshire Agricultural College. This was due to starting my training barely 5 weeks after starting the job!

It was here at my first job that I trained and qualified as an Assessor after 3 years of experience. I have since moved to my present job at Pet Doctors in Seaford. This keeps me busy in my role as the senior nurse with a varied and interesting caseload.

My main interests are obviously animals, amongst other things and in 2010 I decided to take my interests a little further by a 'working holiday' to South Africa for 3 weeks. The 3 weeks were an action packed adventure, where I was able to get up so close that I could touch white rhino, cheetah's and Nyarla (a type of antelope), all anaesthetised of course!

My other interests are animal behaviour and schedule III/ surgical procedures. I will endeavour to cover a wide and varied amount of subjects in my future meetings and if you have any suggestions on subject's you would like to see please contact me. Hope to see you soon!
