I have been working as an animal nursing assistant in small animal first opinion practice since 2005.  I proudly qualified as an RVN in August 2010 and I look forward to continuing to develop my knowledge and skills.

In my life before animal nursing I completed a BSc(Hons) in Business Information Technology.  A totally unrelated subject but I like to think it gives me a good insight into practice management and administration.  I realised that a 9 till 5 office job just isn't for me!

I have a personal interest in canine behaviour, having spent time volunteering at the UK Wolf conservation trust in Reading.  I also have an interest in Exotics and have just started studying for the Veterinary Nursing of Exotic Species Certificate.

In my free time I like to spend time with my rescue Dalmatian Jess and partner Lee.  My house feels quite empty at the moment but in the past has been known to be occupied by rats, mice, chinchillas, rabbits, chipmunks, cockatiels, parrots various wild birds and hedgehogs.  I am a bit of a sucker for the waifs and strays!

I am enjoying being the RCO for the Hampshire and Berkshire area and I really appreciate all of the support that I have been given by the BVNA members in my region.  If there are any topics you would like covered for CPD or any comments/questions whatsoever please get in touch.
