Hello my name is Lindsey Raven. Having been assistant RCO for the last few months I am now taking on the full role. I am currently working at the Millenium Veterinary practice, Braintree, where I on rota for both ward nursing and theatre.

I began my career with animals back in 2002 when I became a Zoo keeper at Colchester Zoo. There I gained a fantastic knowledge of exotic animals working on the reptile section and then progressing onto my own Small animal section. After 3 years as a keeper I wanted to experience animals in their natural habitats and spent 8 months travelling the globe. My most memorable experience was hearing a wild Orangutan long call in the heart of Borneo. I am now actively involved in raising their profile and fundraising for the Orangutan Foundation UK. Once I got back from travelling I embarked on finding myself a training practice (which as always, is hard) I did my first year training at Petdoctors in Cambridgeshire and my second at the Animal health trust. Since qualifying in 2008 I have been working in general practice both permanently and as a locum which has given me a broader experience of different Veterinary practices. I have now found home at the Millenium Veterinary centre and I am proud to be part of such a fantastic team.

I completed my City and Guilds exotic certificate in September last year- with exotics continuing to be a real interest. I am also interested in all aspects of nurse training and anaesthesia.

I am a very active, outdoor person with the help of my Labradoodle Annie. I am currently enjoying renovating my new house and planning a wedding!

I am a CPD addict and will try to push myself to get some really interesting talks happening. I am looking forward to making this role my own and to try and to keep it up for years to come. I really feel that if we can keep a bit of familiarity then our meetings will be more successful then ever before.

I look forward to meeting you all.
