I joined my first small animal veterinary hospital in Rotherham from leaving school in 1989 where I spent eleven happy years, initially completing my training at Broomfield Agricultural College in Derbyshire & qualifying as a veterinary nurse in 1993. As the years went by, I progressed from SVN to QVN to Deputy Head VN finally to Head VN & Qualified Assessor in 2000.
I decided to fly the nest & leave what was like my second home & family to join a small animal veterinary hospital/equine practice & TP in Sheffield, where I spent 6 demanding & most enjoyable years as Nurse Team Leader & Assessor furthering my knowledge in surgery & management skills where I was heavily involved in the smooth running of the practice. Deciding to leave the paperwork & politics behind I moved to a fantastic relatively new practice in Sheffield called Peak Vets, built to hospital standards & also now a TP.
All aspects of veterinary nursing are covered within my role, which suits me down to the ground, I can see myself as part of this super practice for many years to come. I have a passion for CPD, my main interests being anaesthesia, surgery, intensive care, & small animal nutrition.
I have completed various certificates & courses over the years including becoming a veterinary nutritional & veterinary healthcare advisor, pet diabetes advisor, & pet insurance advisor. I am very excited to be joining the BVNA team & look forward to providing cost effective CPD meetings within our region to meet the demands of the North East nurses!

Look forward to meeting you all soon!
