For as long as I could remember I always wanted to work ‘with animals' - it was a source of amusement for the family when I was very young and frustration for my careers teacher before I left school.  I have done very diverse work from hotel waitress to computer operator around work which I have enjoyed, that of working with animals.

My ‘working with animals' began decades ago in kennels finally covering the whole gamut from private breeding and/or boarding kennels, charity kennels to managing a quarantine kennels. Those of you who know me can vouch I've had enough years in which to do this!

Over the decades I have also bred and exhibited my own Tibetan Spaniels both here and on the continent.  This brought me into the area of club and committee work and eventually spells as secretary of a breed club and a general canine society.

Unbelieveably lucky, I came into veterinary nursing through an invitation from my vet who then suggested I formalise my work with the qualification.  I eventually became his head nurse and stayed with him for some ten years before moving on to a short spell as head nurse at a multi site practice.  I spent three years supporting myself exclusively as a locum nurse and have been very fortunate to work with some of the best nurses and vets we have.  The experience of locum nursing was a steep learning curve but I have benefitted from working in practices from the most humble to some of the grandest of referrals combined with work in some of the most beautiful and picturesque and historic places in the country.

Currently, my work is as a night vet nurse in a Bristol general and referral practice which covers other, smaller, nearby practices' out of hours.  This means I am home and away alternate weeks.  The easiest way to contact me is probably email, which I pick up on a regular basis or by text.

My aim is to re instate the great evening meetings we enjoyed here in North Wales in past years.  If you have any ideas then please let me know.
