Review for Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire Regional Meetings

Pets Travel And Vector Borne Diseases | 31st January 2012

Speaker: Joy Howell DipAVN (Surgical) RVN MBVNA

I would like to thank all 32 of you that travelled to a new venue to join myself and Joy for a very cosy and interesting talk on the pets travel scheme.

As usual Joy was up to date with all the changes that took place on the 1st of January.  She gave us some useful websites for both clients and staff members.  As ever Joy did not let us down with print outs and yes you guessed it pens!!

I want to take this chance again to thank BAYER for their kind sponsorship and to Joy for carrying out as ever an up to date and informative talk.  I am looking forward to Joy's next talk in November.

I look forward to seeing all again soon.

Chronic Renal Failure in cats & the importance of phosphate | 15th September 2011

Speaker:  Joy Howell DipAVN(Surgical)RVN MBVNA

Firstly I would like to thank Joy for sharing her time and knowledge with us, and to Bayer for sponsoring the evening.  I would also like to thank the nurses who turned out after a hard day at work to hear Joy speak.  I hope you enjoyed the food as much as myself and Joy did.

As always, Joy made the subject interesting and inviting.  She spoke to us about the renal cat and shared some wonderful knowledge and stories with us.   We started with a refresher on the kidney and moved to renal disease.  Joy explained how we can often use equipment we already have, to identify more renal disease at low cost or possible cost free to the client.

I know a lot of nurses went home with some new ideas of what to look for and how to help the renal cats in hospital.  We ended the evening with a lovely re usable bag, lecture notes, wall display and as ever a new pen.

Thank you to Joy for your time, and to Bayer for the sponsorship towards the evening. I look forward to hearing you talk next year.
