Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to work with animals. I grew up around animals and developed a deep appreciation for them at a young age. After leaving school at 16 I attended College and completed the City & Guilds National Certificate in Animal Care, followed by the BTEC National Diploma in Animal Care, whilst I waited for a position to become available within a training practice. Finally in December 2002 I gained a position at my local veterinary practice, Garston Vet Group, and started my VN training at Bridgewater College, now Vetlink, in September 2003, qualifying with a Credit in 2005.

In the summer of 2006 I moved to the small animal practice at Bristol Vet School where I had the opportunity to help run the hydrotherapy unit and start my assessor training. During my time at the vet school I increased my knowledge and passion for exotics, thanks to Colin Blakely and the staff at the rabbit referral clinic (funded by the RWF). I also developed a keen interest in ICU/Medical nursing.

I moved back to Garston Vet Group in 2008 where I am hoping, with the support of the practice, to be able to study for the Advanced Certificate in Veterinary Nursing.

Away from work, I am married and enjoy trips to Devon to improve my surfing skills (or lack of skills!). I own a menagerie of animals including two cats, two rabbits, three rats and a pair of guinea pigs which all keep me very busy!
