Naturally Pets Canine Centre offers a varied range of courses in canine behaviour and handling - both correspondence and residential - designed specifically for Veterinary staff. The courses are accredited through the Open College Network (OCN), a national awarding organisation approved by Ofqual, ensuring your course is standardised with National qualifications. Degree- qualified Personal Tutors will guide your learning, and you can complete the courses at your own pace.
Canine Behaviour - Level 3
Ideal for professionals with some previous qualifications or experience, or as a follow-on for individuals who have completed our Level 1 course, our Level 3 in Canine Behaviour course provides a comprehensive scientific background to the field of domestic canine behaviour. Modules include: Physiology of Behaviour, Evolution of Behaviour, Handling & Restraint, The Kennelled Dog, Common Culture Clashes, Raising Puppies, Canine Cognition & Advanced Learning Theory
Full course cost: £500 which includes £50 OCN registration fee.
Single practical courses are also available at our Canine Centre, which can be taken individually or used as supplements to the OCN accredited full courses:
- Raising puppies - 2 half day interactive course covering breeding, birth, and rearing to 1 year. Ideal for VN's running puppy socialisation classes
- The Kennelled Dog - 1 day course designed for nurses, kennel staff and groomers who can experience difficult situations with dogs in kennels.
- Handling and Restraint- 1 day course at our centre provides learners with the knowledge and practical skill to safely & appropriately handle & restrain dogs in their care.
- Conflict and Resolution- 2 day course Looks at the reasons for conflict between dogs and handlers It is beneficial for anyone that has contact with dogs from pet owners to dog walkers, groomers, kennel workers , veterinary staff etc
Single course cost: £350 which includes a £50 OCN registration fee.
BVNA members receive a 5% discount on all courses.
