After leaving school I went to college and started my A levels.  I decided this was not for me and changed direction and followed my passion for horses. I studied for 2 years at Broomfield College in Derby and qualified with a National Certificate and BTEC First Diploma.  Following my college placements I decided that I was going to train as a veterinary nurse.   I applied to many veterinary practices and got my break in 1999 when I moved to Surrey and started my training at a mixed practice.

I qualified in Feb 2005 and since then have worked in an orthopaedic/spinal referral centre. I loved my time at this vets but left this job as I discovered I was missing dentistry too much!  Since leaving I have been Head nurse, deputy head nurse, full time student assessor after gaining my A1 units and locumed across the UK in various day/night roles.

I am now settled in another mixed practice in Nottingham where every day is different. You never know what will walk through the door, day or night, as we cover our own out of hours.  I cover all aspects of nursing but I do love nurse clinics, client education, and as mentioned earlier, dentistry (some people say I am mad!).  I have enrolled on the BVNA Certificate in Dentistry so I am going to be a student again for the 1st time in a long time.

Out of work I try and get to the gym a couple of times a week and in the summer I will be found somewhere on a showground grooming for my friends 3 horses. I have 3 cats, Tiger, Tyson,  Mr. Harry Potter, Tatty the dog and my husband Ian.

I am very pleased to be your Regional Co-ordinator and look forward to hearing what CPD you would like offered in your region.

Please get in touch, we have our own Facebook page and my details are above.

Look forward to seeing you all soon
