2013 Bursaries and Grants Available

BVNA work alongside numerous companies and institutions to award a number of bursaries each year with the aim of assisting students or qualified Veterinary Nurses.

Below are full details of this year's bursaries available.  Please note that terms and conditions apply to each bursary, so instructions need to be read carefully.


RCVS Trust LogoRCVS Trust Grants Programme

We offer grants to practising vets and vet nurses, as well as vets in universities and animal charities, for projects that aim to impact animal health through research and education.

The RCVS Charitable Trust is most interested in supporting veterinary practical and research projects which have the widest possible reach and relevance to the profession, and to promote the objectives of the Trust*. In 2010 and 2011 our, wide-ranging grants programme was run with the aim to drive intrinsic innovation across the profession, from blue-sky investigations, to opening students’ eyes to careers in research

BVNA LogoName: BVNA Educational Bursary

Number: Variable
Amount: Up to £500
Objectives: General furthering of veterinary nurse training/education
Who can apply: Student Veterinary Nurses, Qualified Veterinary Nurses
Criteria: Applicants must have been a member of the BVNA for at least 6 months

Royal Canin LogoName: Royal Canin Bursary 

Number: 1
Amount: £500
Objectives: To assist with funding of a nutritional based course/qualification
Who can apply: Qualified Veterinary Nurses
Criteria: Applicants must have been a member of the BVNA for at least 6 months

Kennel Club Trust LogoName: Kennel Club Trust Veterinary Nursing Bursary 

Number: Variable
Amount: £3,000 total
Objectives: General furthering of veterinary nurse training/education
Who can apply: Student Veterinary Nurses, Qualified Veterinary Nurses
Criteria: Applicants must have been a member of the BVNA for at least 6 months

Kennel Club Trust LogoName: Kennel Club Trust Veterinary Nursing Degree Bursary 

Number: 1
Amount: £4,000 over 3/4 years (paid in instalments)
Objectives: To contribute to the cost of completing a VN Degree qualification
Who can apply: Degree Students
Criteria: Applicants must complete, in full, the above training
