Best Photo Category Rules:
- The subject for the 2011 BVNA National VN Week Best Photo Category is "A Veterinary Nurse working above and beyond the call of duty". The theme is open to individual interpretation, but photos should capture an awe-inspiring moment which makes the rest of us wish we'd experienced that particular situation. Entries must have the diverse role of the veterinary nurse at their heart.
- Each entry must not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libellous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, profane or nude content.
- Entrants can submit up to three photos as electronic images (jpeg files – where possible please auto correct the size to 10cm wide by 300 dpi before emailing), in colour or black and white. Please ensure your digital camera is set to the highest print quality and the photos have not been compressed. We regret that prints cannot be accepted.
- Entrants must not be professional photographers and, for the purposes of this competition, a professional photographer will be considered to be someone who makes more than half their annual income from the sale of their photographs.
- The BVNA's decision as to the eligibility of individual photographs will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The competition is open to UK residents only (including residents of the Channel Islands and Isle of Man). Directors and employees of BVNA, as well as their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.
- All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries.
- Entrants will retain copyright in the photographs that they submit. By entering the competition, all entrants grant to the BVNA the right to publish and exhibit their photographs in print on their respective websites or in any other media. No fees will be payable for any of the above uses. Further while we make every effort to credit photographers, including in printed reproductions of their work, we cannot guarantee that every use of the photographs will include the photographer’s name.
- Entries should be emailed to: alison@bvna.co.uk with the email header stating: 2011 BVNA National VN Week Best Photo Competition. Each email should state the photographer’s name, address, contact email and telephone number (both daytime and evening), the name and post nominals of the VN/VNs in the photo/s, where the photo/s was taken and any other information you feel is relevant.
