Want to write for VNJ?

VNJ is a the BVNA’s official journal by VNs for VNs. We would love to receive your articles, comments, letters, case studies, stories, whether clinical, practical, personal or controversial!

  • Please discuss article topics with the editor before submission.
  • Copy length: up to 1,300 words for a full-length article, with pictures, diagrams and illustrations whenever possible.
  • An author credit along with qualifications should be included.
  • Any digital pictures should be 300dpi at 15cms wide (this is very important – test pictures should be sent if you are unsure).
  • Pictures may be e-mailed, or sent on a CD in the post. All pictures should have accompanying captions.
  • Hard copy photographs may also be sent and these will be returned after publication (please include your name and address on the back of the photograph).
  • Text may be e-mailed as a Word file, or sent in the post on a disk.
  • Articles must be aimed at, and of interest to, veterinary nurses, and or veterinary staff.
  • Payment will be made upon publication.

References guidelines
Please provide the author/editor; date of publication; name of publication; publishers, e.g. Cooper, B. & Lane, D. R. (eds) (2003), Veterinary Nursing, 3rd edition, Butterworth-Heinemann, Oxford. If you are unsure, please include all details.

Deadlines
The deadline is the first of the proceeding month, e.g. for the February issue the deadline is 1st January.

We reserve the right to publish work on the website and as reprints. Articles published in VNJ must not be published elsewhere without prior permission from VNJ.
