Alexandra Taylor RVN

I qualified as a nurse in 1997 and have worked in both first opinion and referral practices.  I am especially interested in feline nursing and have completed both the ISFM feline nursing certificate and diploma with distinction.

I currently work as a locum RVN and run my own CPD company ‘The Cat Nurse’ where I offer in-house CPD lectures about feline nursing and behaviour.  I am a volunteer for Cats Protection, where I work as the Education Officer for the Milton Keynes and District Cats Protection branch.

I have recently finished studying towards the ISFM advanced certificate in feline behaviour. I have a particular interest in feline nursing, behaviour, welfare and stress related diseases in feline patients. I am very passionate about feline friendly nursing as I think that it’s the best way to ensure our feline patients are cared for in practice to promote optimum health, as well as a quick recovery from illness or injury.

I think this is an exciting time to be a BVNA Council Member and I look forward to being part of something so positive and forward-thinking, where I can be involved in raising awareness about our wonderful profession.
