Online course available for Registered Veterinary Nurses

Oral Care Nurse Certificate – May 2020 Update

We would like to update you on the situation of the current Oral Care Nurse Certificate.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions we are aware that a lot of Veterinary Nurses have been furloughed and of course there are those that are still currently working and trying to complete their CPD.

With this in mind, BVNA have decided to extend the deadline for completion of the course to 31 August 2020.

We hope that this extension means that it takes the pressure of those who are still working and also gives others the opportunity to undertake the course whilst they are not able to work.

With the current restrictions on holding mass events, we have also decided to defer the Waltham CPD day until March 20201, the exact date will be confirmed as soon as we are able.

If you should have any queries regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us at cpd@bvna.co.uk

COURSE OPENED 2 March 2020

£10 for BVNA Members  £30 Non-Members

The British Veterinary Dental Association and The British Veterinary Nursing Association have joined forces to offer a bite sized course worth 9 hours of CPD!

The programme, proudly supported by Pedigree, aims to provide nurses with the knowledge and skills to deliver effective oral care clinics, drive awareness of oral health and identify pets that are in need of oral care attention.

To enrol and gain the Certificate you will need to be an RVN and complete all 4 modules of the online course.  This includes a series of webinars, instructional videos, short tasks and a final MCQ assessment paper.  Please note that in order to complete the short tasks you must be working in practice or be able to visit a practice in order to undertake a dental examination on an animal under anaesthetic.

To ensure that you meet the minimum entry requirements please read the Terms and Conditions prior to completing the enrolment process.  Please note that although the course opened on 2 March, you can register at any time right up until 2 weeks prior to the course close at the end of August 2020.

Candidates will need to achieve a minimum of 70% in the final assessment, plus complete all of the short tasks in order to achieve the Oral Care Nurse Certificate.

Delegates will gain knowledge and understanding on:
